Motivation

Yes finally an update, just shy under 3 months. I am not going to lie, I haven't really been too busy to update this blog. I just haven't really had any motivation to actually update. With all of the social networks like MySpace and Facebook, it seems easier to let people know what's going on that way instead. However, there are several die-hard blog followers out there, so this is basically for you. I'll try to go chronologically so that I can try to paint an accurate picture of my life as of late.
College classes ended in mid December, thank goodness. Kristina and I went to her aunt's for Christmas dinner #1, then proceeded to my aunt's for dinner #2. New years was fun, we went to a dance that basically sucked. After about an hour we went home and had some people over and brought in the new year. The winter break was nice, it gave me a chance to enjoy being away from school and catch up on finances again. However, when it came time to register for classes I found out that Shasta was only offering 1 of the classes I could take toward my major. The other ones I need are only offered in the Fall semester. Being so close to classes starting, Chico wouldn't let me re-register to take classes with them either. So this all adds up to me taking a nice long break of working full time and no college classes.
So far it's been nice having no homework or tests to prep for. I've been doing a lot of personal learning, mainly photography related material. I'm trying to get my photography site up so I can possibly sell a few of my photographs a month to make some extra money on the side. I've recently realized that I really don't like my job. I like what I do, but not at my current job. I looked up the average wages for Redding and my position, and needless to say I'm well underpaid. The average was ~$40k, the lower 15-20% was $29k, and I made a whopping $18.5. So not only am I underpaid, but I'm getting screwed over on my benefits too. They won't let me be fulltime because I plan on going to school again, but I can't be part time because I work 40 hours a week, AND I can't be temporary because I've worked here more than a year.

Needless to say I am going to look for a new job, or find solutions to the problems I have now. There's always the possibility of the job down in Sacramento, there would certainly be more to do hehe.
